At the age of 13 he moved with his mother and stepfather to Vejle Idrætshøjskole, where the stepfather became the school principal. Here he was able to try various sports, including horse riding and martial arts, but at the same time he began to write poetry and paint.He returned to the capital and attended the Sankt Annæ Gymnasium in a class with, among others, the actor Jesper Christensen and the musician Anders Koppel, played the guitar himself and was interested in new music, not least in The Doors, which he played in his role met as a musician and book reviewer in politics.
