German stamps, overprinted U.S.ARMY v CSR 18.IV.1945, this was the date on which the American Forces crossed the border into Czechoslovakia as part of the liberation of Europe and the push towards Berlin. The stamps were used only on 26th and 27th May 1945 before being withdrawn from use after strong objections to continued use of German 3rd Reich issued stamps.
