Collected at low tide under rubble, at Zanzibar Island, Tanzania, 2015. I only found one chinensis while living on Kwajalein, and it was your typical shell collecting story. It was a great low tide, with coral heads sticking up out of the water, and people were already 40 feet off shore looking for shells, simply gorgeous. I was about to step into the water myself when 10 feet away from the people already in the water, two large moray eels jumped out of the water in a violent fight with each other. Oh, and the folks already in the water? Not bothered a bit, because their backs were turned to it! True story. Well, between that and the baby sharks everywhere and the perfectly camouflaged stone fish that could sting you right through your tennis shoe if you stepped on it, (a fatal error if you did), I just couldn't convince myself that now would be a good time to risk my life and limbs on a half dozen dangers! So, I detoured to the right and stayed on the shallow flat reef where I could at least see in advance that I was going to die, and there, in two inches of water, sitting a shallow puka (hole) was a live chinese cowrie, right where it shouldn't have been, but it was!. That's shell collecting at its best.. Anyhow, as the photos show, is a gorgeous, glassy, pastel-colored GEM beauty from a terrific location that will look wonderful on your shelf! The perfect shell for a first-class collection. As for normal disclaimers, we do the best we can with photos, but color is tricky, especially since cell phone cameras automatically lean towards flesh-tone coloring, (that's why so many of the photos of shells on eBay show up with more orange than is really there, the camera changes the color, and damm if I can figure out how to stop that from happening, but I try, honest!As for feedback, as you know, sellers live and die by the feedback you leaved, (please leave fives!) so if you have a problem, just let me know!
