Customized Corgi Green Hornet Black Beauty in Special 268 Fantasy Box & Extras!

Description: Here we offer the classic Sixties toy--the Corgi Green Hornet Black Beauty. This is the 35th-year anniversary reissue, especially customized here to include the Green Hornet and Kato characters. The reason this is so great is because the reissue is pretty much an exact replica, but without the characters, which, to a kid, are the coolest things about the car. Also, the reissue fixed mechanical problems that broke on the original after about a week (such as poor front panel mechanics that caused the missile door to hang open; easily-breaking suspension due to poor-quality plastic; missile firing that was prone to getting jammed (the old missiles don't work with this model;) and tires that flattened out over time.) Here, you can have something you never could before: a brand-new Corgi Green Hornet with Kato and the Green Hornet with redesigned and more dependable mechanics! Mint! The car comes complete with working front "immobilising missile" that fires from a secret panel on the front grille, and "hornet scanner," which comes helicoptering up from the rear trunk. Other great features: "emerald"-jeweled headlights, and Kato (driving,) and the Green Hornet (whose arm can be adjusted, firing his tear-gas pistol from the back seat.) This Black Beauty is mint--it was customized fresh out of the package. The characters are repro parts. The classic Corgi Black Beauty originally came in an oversized box, stuffed with a plynth--a fanciful display stand. Many collectors have a particular affection for the traditional Corgi box, which the toy store owner would retrieve by referencing the number displayed on its end flap, removing it from a glass-doored cabinet that was stacked high with boxes. You'd open the end flap, and the heavy car would roll into your palm. That said, rather than including a faithful repro box, (which can be easily purchased cheaply,) I've included here a limited-edition "fantasy" box in the style of the older Corgi boxes, without the ungainly plynth, but using the Green Hornet graphics --a very stylish accessory this addition to your collection deserves--and something you will only find here. This high-quality box is wide enough and sturdy, so that the Black Beauty can display on top, with the main box graphics showing. All other Corgi Black Beauty graphics for this model are included among the instructions. Also included with your purchase is a wonderful collection of ephemera to compliment your Black Beauty: new Corgi Black Beauty instructions; a Green Hornet Official Agent Badge, which you'll only find here, because, unlike with the Batmobile and 007 car, Corgi skimped on the badge (a paper peel-off sticker) when they made the Black Beauty; a Corgi model club offer and miniature certificate, and the missile and scanner--these are all repro or fantasy parts. Also included is the 2001 painted, die-cast Kato figure.
