Description: Get M1 For The Road™Okay, I realize that this isn't an M1 helmet listing, but we DO sell other things too! Up for grabs - right here, right now, right away - is something that you've never seen before: a custom-painted Size 1, 1952 Czech M53 helmet in a NET-LIKE camo pattern. Further details are listed below:Intelligence Brief: This guy is one-of-a-kind and I will NEVER paint another one like it again! Most "artists" simply paint the same basic designs over and over again (ARVN emblems, Medic crosses, Band of Brothers units, etc.), but once I'm finished with a helmet, it's colors and pattern (as a combo) are retired FOREVER, so each one is unique. It's one-and-done, folks! This helmet is complete and there's nothing broken (like the leather, straps, or loops/bails) and there are no dents. This helmet type goes by a few names, among them are: Czech M53, Czechoslovak Vz. 53, and the SSh-40 (the latter is incorrect as that's the name of the Soviet version). It has some imperfections, so please look carefully at all of the photos before you even THINK about buying - I don't do refunds. Without further ado, here are all of the particulars:----DETAILED REPORT----Lining SitRep: The webbing is the 'finger-style' type made popular by the German Stahlhelm. The chin strap leather could use some 'refreshing', but is still pliable. If you have shoe conditioner, leather oil, or baseball glove cleaner - then go for it. Sadly, I have none of those things. There are some ink stamps on the inside and the ones that I can read are: 1 (the 'small' head size), 52 (the year of manufacture), and the 'crossed swords' seal of approval. There are a couple of other ink smudges as well. As for the size: I'm a head size 7 5/8 and the liner ring is too small (it measures about 7" x 7.5"). I would say that the MAXIMUM head size would be a 7, but that's just a guess.Shell SitRep: There are no cracks, warping, or dents present. As for the paint job, it's not meant to look professional - it's meant to appear 'amateur...ish' - as in 'Not From A Factory'. To get that net effect, I used, well, a net. Then I used some spray paint. And a little more spray paint. And a lit... well, you get the idea. As a finishing touch it has multiple layers of clear coating for protection. (Now, that being said: don't drop it on concrete or use it for air-soft battles!) I've put in a lot of 'sweat equity' designing & creating this guy, but I have others in various stages of completion and I'm running out of room in my "Helmet Collection Section", so I need to sell it. I'm looking for someone who appreciates it as much as I do. By the way, I've been custom-painting various objects for 30 years (just for gits & shiggles). This isn't my first rodeo, folks... it's done the RIGHT way. (Side note: The colors are black, light brown, and medium green with a forest green 'net'. Some folks are color blind and monitors vary, after all.)FINAL NOTE: I usually have a number of other items listed as well. I WILL put together bundle deals to save you money. Just let me know before buying. Also, I have a few spare (post-WWII) M1 parts, so just ask if you're looking for anything in particular.------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Please take a look at the pics and item specifics for any other information you may require. If you have any questions or need more pics, just ask - I'm here to help. At times, I DO end some listings early and without notice (if there are no bids or best offers pending). So bid, buy, or make me an offer early - before someone else does.Bundle Deals & Best Offers: In most cases, I CAN offer discounts if you're interested in purchasing more than one of my items. One example may be: buy one item - then get 10-40% off a second one (just let me know before buying/paying). I may also lower the price on certain individual items. I'm here to QUICKLY sell stuff, not to get top dollar. It never hurts to inquire about ANY listing(s), just keep in mind that someone else may buy it up in the time it takes for me to get back to you. So, please feel free to ask, as every polite offer or question will get a response!Payment & Shipping: Payment is expected within a couple of days and our listings are sold AS IS, therefore no refunds will be given. If you have any questions (or want more pics), please ask BEFORE buying. Also, if you have 10 or lower feedback, please contact me before buying. FREE USPS shipping to buyers with a U.S. address in ALL 50 States plus D.C. and our territories (including P.O. boxes) - but NO INTERNATIONAL!
