They are G.A. Custer's Headquarters Flag and his last guidon. The HQ flag is a swallow tail style of red over blue with crossed sabres. It is the third rendition designed and made by George's wife, Libby Custer. George used this flag toward the end of the American Civil War where it got so tattered he had to retire it to under glass before it completely disintegrated. The guidon with the stripes and stars is a copy of the guidon used by Custer's 7th Cavalry at his last battle at the Little Bighorn River. One was found beneath a dead trooper there at the greasy grass, the only one not taken by the hostiles. It recently sold at auction for $2.2 million. Don't worry, I won't charge that much, though, when you tack on shipping costs and Ebay fees, you never know. These flags are simply made of card stock and each come with a 14" wooden dowel. Instructions are included. All you'll need are scissors and a glue stick. Borrow them from your kids' supplies. Both banners will look great flying along the trail with the boys in blue.
