This pair of cufflinks is made from two stunning silvered officer's buttons of the Earl of Chester's Yeomanry Cavalry. The yeomanry cavalry was raised in 1797 with the growing fear of invasion from France and the Napoleonic Wars. The cufflinks are made with a silver plated swivel back with an attractive diamond pattern on the swivel. They are made using smaller tunic buttons, perfect in size for cufflinks and are 18 mm in diameter. They represent a unique part of Cheshire and Chester history and the silvered buttons have been carefully cleaned to retain the original character of the buttons which are approximately 200 years old, whilst highlighting the beautiful details of these very rare original buttons. This is a truly unique gift and a chance to own a small piece of Georgian military history lovingly restored and made into a beautiful pair of cufflinks. They are presented in a luxury wooden cufflink box and cardboard cover to make them the perfect present.
