Description: Here I have for sale a well-preserved copy of C.S. Forester's Ship of the Line published in hardcover with pictorial dust jacket by Grosset & Dunlap in this early reprint in 1939. Chronologically, #7 in the Hornblower saga timeline, this was published just a year after the first edition with the original plates from Little Brown. The book is VG with some scuffing and edge wear to blue boards and some sun darkening to bottom of spine. Tight binding with age tanning to endpapers and page ends. Pages unmarked and clean but for prior seller's penciled price on endpaper. The dust jacket is VG- with still vibrant colors to wonderful jacket painting. Some sun lightening to spine. Significant chip out of bottom of spine and smaller chips to top of spine and edges. Some staining to rear panel. It is not price-clipped and is protected in mylar. Thanks and see my other listings: Hornblower Saga, Modern Firsts, Modern Library, Everyman's Library and Oxford World's Classics.
