Description: Here I have for sale a lovely stated First Edition of C.S. Forester's Hornblower During The Crisis published in this hardcover with pictorial dust jacket by Little Brown in 1967. This volume also contains two Hornblower stories: Hornblower's Temptation and The Last Encounter. Hornblower During the Crisis is Forester's last contribution to the Hornblower saga and it was unfinished when he died. Chronologically, it is #4 in the Hornblower timeline. The book is VG++ with clean, bright boards and gilt. Tight binding and clean, unmarked pages except for a prior seller's penciled price and first edition notation on endpapers. Mild tanning on endpapers. The dust jacket is also VG++ with still vibrant color to this wonderful jacket painting by Sam Bryant. The faintest of edge wear. Probably could get away with rating it NF.
