These crystals are unique, each one slightly differing from the next. In Morrocco, they come from Atlas Mountains. Different regions, such as the High Altlas, Middle Atlas and Ant-Atlas have been know to yield geodes. These mountains are rich in various geological formations, including sedimentary and volcanic rocks, which provide the ideal conditions for the formation of geodes.Over 80 million years ago, the first phase of Atlas Mountain formation began. This stage consisted of a series of continental collisions between African and Eurasian plates. The collisions forced layers of limestone and sandstone up from the earth, effectively forming the first level of the mountain range.
