Crosby, US Navy Retired First cachet was Scott 730-41 (.01 Fort Dearborn) and the last cachet was for Scott 984-30 (03 Annapolis) The late Capt Crosby was probally more well known for his ship cancellation cover as he was for his first day covers. He is a member of the Hall of Fame of the Universal Ship Cancellation Society (USCS). Crosby was a pioneer in thermographed cachets. According to USCS.ORG website: "Walter G. Crosby, USCS 69 (1996).
