Description: Crooksville Pottery 10" pie baker Petit Point House pattern10" diameter 1.5" deepVintage 1940s 1950s Multicolor on cream background with red trim at rim This is a lovely deep pie baker made by Crooksville Pottery probably between 1940 and 1959. The Crooksville plant closed its doors in 1959. This pattern was described simply as House by plant workers but was later given the name Petit Point House due to the pattern's resemblance to needlepoint. It is a very colorful design on a cream background. There is a thin line of red around the rim. The back is unmarked but I am fairly certain this is a piece of Crooksville Pottery. Several matching pieces can be seen in Jo Cunningham's books on American dinnerware. While its original purpose was baking deep dish pies, I think that this pretty piece would also be a great pasta bowl or fruit bowl. This wonderful piece is free of chips, cracks, or crazing.
