Everyone starts with the same number of marbles, Electrons Protons in Neutrons, then draws cards that adds electrons, proton or neutrons, or subtracts them. .The students identify the atom that has been made. .. The first student to run out a marble's wins . The game can also be played to teach students about light and lasers. Energy is added depending on what color photon is absorbed. Energy is lost depending on what color photon is emitted, dropping the energy level of the atom. The board illustrates 5 of the possible 7 energy levels in 3 kinds of electron. Orbitals are found in electrons, so the energy levels around the center of the border, the nucleus orbitals are labeled and represented by pockets for the marbles in each general level. There are "S" orbitals "P" orbitals and are resented on the board Of course you're gonna have to read the instructions.
