No date (1850's) A really well preserved early copy of William Cowpers Poetical Works in the original blind stamped, floral embossing. Mellow brown cloth binding with bright gilt title. The original binding is entirely square and sound and has seen very little handling. Nor has it been read. The printers sections remain uncut after probably 170 years so the book is in very collectible condition. The book has no date but the binding style & material suggest 1850 or so. Chalk Yellow endpapers with both gutter & internal hinges entirely sound. Binding is tight. The brown cloth has mellowed with age. The top & tail of the spine has a few light cracks in the cloth.
