Description: Up for auction! Incredible Courtney & Tennant Charleston South Carolina marked Civil War Confederate Style D-Guard Bowie Knife. Selling as unknown if original or reproduction? Knife itself looks like the real deal but the markings are throwing us off. Huge 22" over all length with an enormous 17-1/4" clip point blade marked "COURTNEY & TENNANT/CHARLESTON, S.C." on the left side, heavy duty iron guard, and smooth wood grip. Solid condition older knife! Mixed aged patina, mild spotting and moderate handling marks overall. Grip is very solid with no "wiggle". Wish we knew more about this one but would make an outstanding historical display piece or Reenactor's edged weapon. Super nice collectable large knife!
