Description: Pottery ornament with a "corn maiden" in blue corn husk on one side and a typical SW pueblo geometric design in rust and tan on the other side. Made of Acoma white clay ---- This beautiful and sweet piece is by well known SW potter, Angelina Medina who combines her Acoma and Zia and Zuni heritage and produces pottery with elements from each tribe. She has signed this on the bottom (see last photo) Corn maidens are revered and are often depicted as beautiful young women morphing from an ear of corn, the hush making her garments/blanket.
