Description: Cork Red loose Beads, from Connemara Marble by Gerard. NOTE: Beads are not always exactly the mm listed. Some 'run' a tiny bit small, and some large. But the size differences are extremely small, and hard to notice from any appreciable distance. The color description is completely arbitrary, meaning it is not 'official' The beads vary so much that to get some consistency in the group you'll receive, they have been listed to better describe the general colors and/or patterns. All beads colors shown are representative of what you'll receive. As you can imagine, it would be so much easier if the were not so varied, but the variety is often the appeal. Also, in reds so far, there is not a great deal of difference between the 4mm dark red, and red, very slight, for instance. Same with many of the other offerings. There is not a great deal of difference between the 4mm Red and 4 mm Dark Red. The 4mm and most of the 6mm Reds are not really as 'bright' as some other sizes of red. [These beads often vary a lot between shipments, so why this is being emphasized. If a decidedly different color comes in, it will be listed as such.] Cork Red Marble is basically red, with variations of colors, like dark and light gray, almost white, brown or light black mixed in. Cork Red only comes in sizes 4 mm, 6 mm, and 8 mm. Cork Red is rare and virtually impossible to mine today! As far as I know only Connemara Marble by Gerard has sole access to a private property that has the Cork Red. [Also called Munster Red by some. It was hugely popular in cathedral or churches in an era, then went out of style for that. Some can been seen, to this day, in use somewhere. [I just do not know where, but Ireland for sure! Pictures of a real Cork Red column was taken in 2019 at the St. Helen's Radisson Blu, just south of Dublin, Ireland. [pics 3 & 4]. Cork was in one of the 4 ancient Provinces of Ireland, Munster, located roughly in the south central of the island. Authorized Internet Retailer for Connemara Marble by Gerard.
