Scale: 1/50 Length: 5.0" Width: 2.75" The M48 tank was an essential element of the U.S. Marine Corps presence in Vietnam. It was used in a wide variety of roles from perimeter defense to search and destroy. The Marine Corps garrison at Khe Sanh was surrounded and cut off by the North Vietnamese Army during the TET offensive in February 1968, and in April the U.S. military launched Operation Pegasus to relieve the besieged garrison. While on a road patrol up Route 9, this M48 with Corporal Gerry Hall as tank commander was caught in a nighttime ambush.
