Dornwald was started in 1935 by James and Eleanor Cole with foundation stock closely bred to major early import Utz v Haus Schuetting and Grynllan Kennels. They won several times at Westminster and are credited with developing a consistent type of quality that influenced many bloodlines to follow, as breeding programs proliferated following the war.
