Description: Copper in Allouez Conglomerate from Copper Country in the Keweenaw Peninsula of Michigan It is approximately 4-3/4" x 4" x 3/8" thick. Conglomerate was found above the copper load in the Keweenaw Peninsula. Allouez can be found in the tailing piles of several copper mines in the Keweenaw Peninsula. It was known as poor rock because it sometimes contains copper but not enough to be profitable when removed from the conglomerate. This piece is unpolished and shown dry. It is a great display piece.
