Description: Coors Pottery Red "Rose Bud" Covered Casserole / Vegetable Dish/ covered serving dish Antique 1920s. There are a few production flaws on the bottom and a chip as well. There is what I would call a ‘rub’ ? Mark along the top which is also a production flaw. Some crazing only on the flowered portion of the dish. Please see photos . John Herold incorporated the Herold china & pottery company in 1910 with the help of brewery owner Adolph Coors. Herold left Golden in 1915 and Adolph Coors, Jr. took over management of the company which in the 1920s became The Coors Porcelain Co. This serving dish was Produced in Golden, Colorado in the 1920s when prohibition ceased the production of beer and the Coors family concentrated on producing porcelain from the fine clays from the hills surrounding Golden. These unique clays were used to make porcelain dinnerware, hotel ware and chemical labware. Coors labware was the supplier of choice of inventor, Thomas Edison. Today the company is now known as Coors Tek and fifth generation Coors family members are working there. Thank you for viewing my listing.
