Description: Continental Airlines CAL Concorde Flight Attendant's Wings These are not "kiddie" wings, they are actual company issued wings that were worn by working crew members. They are in very good, yet typical, condition for an item of this type and age. HISTORY:On July 24, 1963, CAL placed orders for three Concorde Supersonic Transport aircraft. To celebrate this event, both pilots and "hostesses", as they were referred to back then, were issued "wings" with images of the Concorde on them. They were worn on the outer coat on all flights until around 1971. Almost all of the orders for the Concorde were cancelled by 1973 due to rising production and fuel costs. CAL cancelled its order in March of that year. Included in this sale is a CAL Travel Folder that was given to passengers during that timeframe. This one shows a CAL flight attendant wearing the concord wings on her uniform. The folder has a note written on the front of it that says, "Trip to Calif. - Nov 1968".On the inside of the folder CAL's international route map is printed, and on the back is a the route map of CAL domestic flights in 1968.See the pictures for more details about the folder. Both are mounted in a Riker Mount (the kind typically used by museums and collectors) and are ready for immediate display. I am a retired CAL Captain and I am selling part of my collection of CAL stuff. If you you are a CAL memorabilia collector, then this is an opportunity that you can't pass up. FREE SHIPPING!
