Description: Up for purchase is a Leech & Rigdon style "Floating CS" Confederate officer saber. I believe this example is an old replica or reproduction based on the blade as well as certain details of the guard. Brass guard has patina and discoloration, consistent with being a relic. Pommel is still attached to the blade, but is a little loose on the grip. Blade does not have any fuller up the middle, but appears to have somewhat of an edge as well as a small upper edge in the bowie style. Grip is present, but shows cracking and is missing the leather wrap and wire. Blade measures approximately 1 inch wide and 29 inches long. As the photos show, the blade is curved similar to a cavalry saber. The sword is in relic condition throughout, but would make an excellent display item. Keep in mind, I am selling this sword as a reproduction. This came out of an old collection I will be liquidating from the same digger who recovered a lot of early battlefield pickups.
