Description: Companion Autographs, 1878, Fairchilds Woodstock Ohio, Sabbath School Students, Authors Poets Presidents, Perry Mason Co Collectible Antique This old collectible autograph book measures about 7 inches long by 4.25 inches wide and is about 0.5 inches thick. The book has a publication date of 1877, copyright by Perry Mason & Co It is an autograph book half full of facsimile autographs and famous passages by well-known names. The book then contains the signatures of the students of former classes. It was presented to Mrs S Fairchilds by members of her Sabbath School Class in Woodstock Ohio in February 1878. On some of the many blank pages, there are personal autographs from Mrs. Fairchild’s students ranging from the late 1800s to the early 1900s. The book has gold gilding on the edge of each page, which is in very good condition. In fact, the entire book is in excellent condition for an antique. I believe the cover is leather on board. There is an old faded photograph postcard inside the front cover. I do not know if that is of Mrs. Fairchild and her contemporaries or students. But it will stay with the book. Fairchilds is Sarah Fish (1812-1894), born in Vermont and married Orris (sometimes listed as Orra) Fairchild (1807-1864) in Ohio in 1831.
