In 1879 Francois’s son Henri moved to London with a small bag of tools, but a great deal of experience. He was one of the prime movers in the establishment of the briar pipe trade in London and is credited with being the author of the appellation “London Made.” The Guildhall is a Comoy’s second. Here’s an absolutely mint condition, featherweight Canadian shaped pipe from the House of Comoy. Draft hole is center and above the bottom of the chamber. Chamber interior is very sound and very clean, appearing unsmoked. There is an effortless draw. Tenon to mortise union is sound, snug and flush. Vulcanite stem is a crisp jet black, bearing no marks. Pipe does not accept a filter. Pipe weighs 1. 09 ounces (30.9 grams) No fills. No handling marks. Pipe passes a cleaner with ease. Pipe has a great balance and would make an excellent all day clencher.
