Description: COMBAT #28 Published in October, 1969 by Dell Publishing Co., Inc. Stories and art by Sam Glanzman et al. This issue is actually a reprint of “Combat #2” from June, 1962. 32 pages. Original cover price was 15 cents. From a solicitation description: “Unlike other war comics of the era, Dell's Combat focused on the events of historic battles, rather than war fiction, with art by WWII veteran and comics legend Sam Glanzman. This issue focuses on the Japanese attack on the American fleet at Pearl Harbor. A surprise attack on the nation, it is instrumental in the US entry into WWII. The weather and superior sailing helps Drake defeat the Spanish Armada in 1588. Plus one-pagers on the planes of Pearl Harbor and the US Marines. Pearl Harbor; General John Pershing; Defeat of the Spanish Armada; The Fighting Man.” Condition is Apparent Fine. Looks like an above-average copy with some minor wear. Complete with no tape, no spine splitting. Cover & interior pages are secure at the staples. Some spine ticks. I initially purchased this in a huge Golden/Silver/Bronze Age estate collection of thousands of comics. Upon closer inspection, I believe that the deceased had trimmed many of his books. In some cases, it was done so well, that it was difficult to tell. In this particular case, I think the trimming is more obvious. I may be wrong & it may simply be a miswrap, but I am pricing it accordingly in case I am right. Please see photos. Will be shipped in a hard cardboard mailer via USPS Ground Advantage.
