Description: Over the past couple of months I have built up a small collection of five 9ct gold WW1 Tribute Medals, all relating to the north-east of England. The front of the medal is engraved: "HEBBURN SHIPYARD AMBULANCE CORPS 1916" It is also engraved with the initials of the recipient "NB". The obverse is engraved: "PRESENTED TO NEWMAN BATTMAN" Also " .... Fellow workmen for services rendered" (first word is rubbed). Weight: 8.9 gm. Width: 27 mm. Height: 40 mm. Hall Mark: Birmingham 1915. Maker's Mark: James Walter Tiptaft.
