Description: NOTE: I do combine items to save you on shipping cost.This is a polished piece of Burmite (Burmese) amber that contains a well-preserved, cockroach with a cricket nymph, a biting (blood sucking) midge, a beetle and a long leaf that lived during the Cretaceous Period when dinosaurs still walked the Earth including T-Rex and Triceratops. The piece itself weighs 2.9 grams with approximate dimensions of 3.6 cm length by 1.9 cm width and 0.5 cm height. NOTE: 2.54 cm is 1 inch.Please see my feedback. I have been selling amber fossils for over 15 years on eBay and do not sell fake amber only genuine material from now extinct plant sources not glass or plastic embedded with present day inclusions.Burmese (Burmite) amber is difficult to acquire and has been dated to be Cretaceous in age (around 100 million years old) and would have been sticky resin during the time of the dinosaurs and is being mined in the Hukawng Valley in Myanmar (Burma).In December of 2016, a portion of the tail of a small dinosaur was reported in a piece of burmite amber, and in June of 2017, a nearly complete extinct bird was reported in this material! Please note that the saltwater test to identify real from fake amber is not reliable. The saltwater test claims that real amber will float in saltwater while fake amber will sink. However, many amber sources or even specimens will not float in saltwater as their botanical (plant) composition as well as fossil inclusions are such that they are more dense than saltwater and so sink.
