In A Ritual of Blood and Fire (Season 1 required), investigators suddenly find themselves in the middle of a dark ritual taking place in a burning mansion while pursuing a strange creature through a passage. At the start of the game, each investigator receives 1 random assignment token listing a specific tasks that must be completed in order to face a vulnerable Elder One, such as release 3 victim companions or kill 4 cultists. If an investigator dies before they are able to finish their task, which would be hard enough even without all the fire, the game is immediately lost.
