Author biography Born in Duluth, Minnesota, USA in 1927. Since 1955, while living in Japan, he continues to draw landscapes and buildings. His graceful, grandiose, and stylish works have won him many fans both at home and abroad. Moved to Kazuemachi, Kanazawa City, Ishikawa Prefecture in later years. For the next 12 years, he set up a residence and atelier in the ruins of a teahouse, and devoted himself to creating works mainly depicting the atmosphere of Kanazawa. In addition, exhibitions are held in major cities throughout the country and around the world, including exhibitions at local department stores. Also, in Kanazawa, he contributed to various urban development activities, such as making a strip of woodblock print calling for the prevention of littering of empty cans, and drawing an ema (votive tablet) for a local shrine. Passed away in 2007 at the age of 80.
