Description: This is a JJ Teaparty issue but this one has some flaws that others from that collection of 1957 magazines did not. November 18, 1957 Sports Illustrated, Oklahoma All American Clendon Thomas on the cover. Lightly read magazine. Please see the high resolution photos I provided. Stress marks on the spine, the corners are rounded, and the leading edge corners have small "dog ear" creases. There's also some scuffing on the bottom right portion of the front cover. Take a look at the last photo. Other than those flaws the magazine looks realy nice. You can see in photos 7, 8 and 9 how nice and flat it's laying. The spine is tight, the staples are intact, there are no loose pages, no creases, no folded pages, no water stains, no signs of paper exposed to humidity, no writings, rips nor torn pages inside. Again, please take your time to inspect the large photos I provided. I know my prices are high, but go search for yourself and see if you can find older newsstand copies that aren't slabbed. This is not like sportscard collecting. Hardly any of these made it this far. When a magazine did not sell the distributor would tear off the cover and send it back for credit. I read a few weeks ago on some site about SIs that only 2% of the newsstand issues survived. That doesn't sound very plausible without explanation but I digress.
