Musical direction by Richard Hill and featuring various well-known actors. This 26-part serial, produced by Associated Television, is based on Arnold Bennett's Clayhanger trilogy. The cast included:• Janet Suzman as Hilda Lessways• Peter McEnery as Edwin Clayhanger• Harry Andrews as Darius Clayhanger• Denholm Elliott as Tertius Ingpen, and • Denis Quilley as George Cannon. Condition Vinyl: VG. Clean on visual inspection. A few light surface hairlines on side 1, lots of hairline scuffs on side 2 when viewed an angle. These don't affect playback. Played just pre-listing and sound clarity is great throughout. Just some light surface noise at run-ins and during quieter sequences. Plays with no skipping, jumping or sticking. A nice listening experience to a forgotten 70s British TV score. Outer Sleeve (Cover): VG. Colours are clear and unfaded. Nice gatefold sleeve. Front has a few creases and dents but nothing major. Line of discolouration along spine. Corners lightly scuffed, top right more severe. Top edge fairly badly scuffed, bottom edge lightly scuffed. Spine clean and intact with mild crimping. Aperture is dogeared mainly towards top and bottom. Back outer gate clean with just a few more creases. Light disc outline visible. Inner gate in good shape with no obvious major marks. Slight bowing in bottom right corner. Inner Sleeve: VG-EX. Original. Yellowed paper with curved corners. Discolouration round edges. A few minor creases/folds through normal handling but intact.
