Description: This is a hardcover edition of 'Classical Wedgwood Designs' by Carol Macht. It was published in 1957 by Gramercy Publishing. The copyright page suggests a first printing from 1957. It is in remarkable condition if that is the case, but I suspect it is a later printing based on the feel of the boards and thick, glossy paper used for the dustjacket. It is purely academic on a book like this I suppose... The book is sub-titled 'the sources of Wedgwood designs, their use, and the relationship of Wedgwood jasper ware to the classical revival of the eighteenth century'. Jasperware, or jasper ware, is a type of pottery first developed by Josiah Wedgwood in the 1770s.
