Description: Vintage Bontrager mountain bike for sale. Bontrager made the best bikes back in the 90s but it is time to part with this one as I am reducing my collection. This is my wife's bike and it has been gently and infrequently ridden. The frame says small but measures 15" from bb to top tube and 17" from bb to top of seat tube. I am guessing it is a Privateer and manufactured around 1998 but we acquired it much later. Bike weighs around 26#. Great Bontrager colors typical of the Privateers. Hand built Tru Temper OX3 frame probably in Wisconsin and not California. These are great hand built in the US frames which are sought by collectors and enthusiasts alike . Matching Rock Shox Judy T2 forks. Control Tech aluminum bars and bar ends. Bontrager aluminum seat post and titanium Race Lite Lux saddle. SRAM ESP 9.0 carbon shifters, brake levers and rear derailer. Shimano XT cranks and LX front derailer. Shimano LX pedals. Avid 2.0 V-brakes. Bontrager Select wheel set with Specialized Slaughter Control 2.3 tires. Of course, 3 x 8 gearing typical for bikes of this era.
