The BAR games feature a highly detailed, realistic and interactive game system, gorgeous map and counter graphics, thorough research and exciting battles throughout Europe and America. However, because of rules depth, detail and period "elan", many gamers have been perplexed in learning the system. This Primer is designed as an illustrated learning tool to accompany and enhance the Third Edition BAR rules. This Primer features illustrated rules demonstrations, game tactics, learning modules and 280 upgrade and errata counters for previous BAR games. These are the differences between the original edition and the 2022 edition: First of all, both editions have the same upgrade/errata counter sheet. The 2022 edition is spiralbound, which is really very helpful. Why didn't we do that from the start!?! All errata and clarifications from all previous versions have, of course, been updated in the 2022 edition. A new section on Limited Activations (2f) is in the 2022 edition. The sections from the original Primer on updating games to BAR v3 and also BAR v3 errata have been removed. This is because all BAR games have since had their rules and charts updated to BAR v3 and those (better) updates are available on the BAR website. The 2022 edition does contain a small amount of new clarifications about the BAR v3 rules, with a helpful example of Enfilade and Outflank. These items will be included in the v3.4 rules whenever those are published. The 2022 edition also has a few improved graphics. Other than those items, everything else is the same. The two pages of learning modules are tied to owning Fontenoy/Melle. This is because a particular game map had to be used and that was the newest game at the time it was published.
