Description: REPLICA CIVIL WAR 44 CALIBER PAPER CARTRIDGES BOX. These boxes are replicas of paper cartridge boxes that were issued usually to officers in the Union Army to hold the paper cartridges during the war. They are designed with six holes for the cartridges and a slightly smaller hole for six ignition caps that were paper wound. The boxes come with a paper sleeve that will slide of to allow you to open up the folding box top which is attached as in the past by cloth glued to the wood. The photo with the six paper cartridges and the roll of caps in the box is for display only to show how they fit. The sleeves and boxes are empty when sold, no ammunition is included. I have a bunch for when I was thinking strongly on trying my hand at re-enacting, but that ship sailed long ago. Ask any questions but please do before Sunday night as I might not be available.
