Cinema Rehoused Zeiss/Contax Planar Macro 50mm, 1.4, PL mount, .08 focus gear

Description: This is a Contax/Zeiss Planar Macro 50mm, serial number 5942319, f 1.4 with a proper, cinema rehousing and PL mount. As far as I can tell by the style of the rehousing, it was done by Eastern Enterprises in Japan, who have rehoused other lenses for me. I purchased the lens in 2014 from Lensworks Rentals. The focus ring has 810 degrees of rotation, with a true macro, close focus of approx 3 inches from the front element (approx .5 inch from the lens hood). Accepts 82mm thread, front filters and matte box rings. No dings or dents. The front element has a minor cleaning mark in the center - see last image - and dust typical of a lens this age, with one spec of larger dust that is impossible to photograph here. I purchased the lens in this condition, and none of its flaws have affected the image quality in the ten years that I have used it. The rear element is pristine. All elements: NO fungus, NO yellowing, NO decay of coatings or glue. Aperture blades are clean and operate smoothly. Focus is firm but smooth. This is an excellent, versatile lens that has served me well shooting on Arri 35III, Red Dragon, and Red Komodo. What you see in the photos is what you get. Lens, aluminum front cap, plastic rear cap.
