Description: Chris Ritter, (1906-1976), a well-known artist and art instructor at Hunter College, Cornell University and the Ballard school in TX, whose work is represented in the British Museum, Brooklyn Museum, Art Institute of Chicago, Georgia Museum of Art, Library of Congress, NY Public Library, the Smithsonian, Whitney Museum of American Art and Worcester Art Museum. This is one of his personal watercolors from the Ritter Estate in Ogunquit, Maine. The image size is 22"W x 30"H on watercolor paper mounted on 24" x 32" illustration board, and framed under glass at 29.5" x 37.25" x 1.5". I've seen this subject before - a trophy game duck on a wall - but never with a name of the duck ("OLD SQUAW") hand inscribed in detail on the art itself and never in this large a painting. A very beautiful piece.
