Hand hammered cover with bold geometric incised borders and marvelous "Japanese" script monogram. Spring assist push-tab opening on a flush seven-knuckle hinge. Spring-loaded pierced bar secures contents against snailed wall. Back edge stamped "STERLING" "8" and carrying conjoined initials MH of the maker. The condition of this nearly century old case is nothing short of astounding.
