Description: A tight, colorful, and artistic Chinese cloisonné vase that has a design of a plum tree on one side and a tree peony on the other. A heavy bronze base has been covered in glass enamels in several colors to form the designs. The metal has a nice rich brown color from age. The enamels are well thought out with shading and brightness. The design even shows the ground at the base of the two trees. There is a shallow foot. MEASUREMENTS 6 ½” (16.5 cm) tall x 3 ¼” (8.3 cm) diameter. Weighs 10.3 oz (290 g) CONDITION There is some enamel loss under the rim above the prunus tree and a dent to the mouth just above it. There is also slight damage to one of the petals on a red prunus blossom on the shoulder of the vase and a slight dent at that flower. There is a tiny rim nick on the mouth. There is also some pitting to the enamels from age. A colorful well thought out vase that has a richness to it and will look good in the home décor.
