Description: An exceptional pair of ANTIQUE Hand Carved CHINESE wooden figures of Dignitary Tomb Attendants, Ming Dynasty, (1573-1620 AD). These are extreemly rare, and usually not in this good of condition. These small museum quality artifacts would make a great addition to any fine collection. Each modeled standing on a carved wooden base, wearing long golden robes with green and white stripes. Both with wide sleeves. One appears with a hand out front with a small hole that once held some sort of offering. Each face painted white with features detailed in grey, white and black pigments and surmounted with a tall headdress. The figures were carved individually with uniquely painted features, owing to their distinctive expressions.Detailing and condition is exceptional, a wonderful addition to a collection. Height is 5 inches including the base Condition: Good and unrestored. Has some modest degradation to the the base hole on one. it sits slightly wobbly. Both have some paint loss as expected and as shown in the photos. These came from a Palm Beach county Estate, that had many very old and unique items.
