Description: This lamp is an antique Chinese vase base made of porcelain and pottery in the flambe oxblood or sang de boeuf style. The vase is in a red color and comes with a shade to be used as a lamp. Maker unknown, exact age unknown but all the pieces of this are hallmarks of an antique original. This is an exceptionally beautiful lamp in wonderful shape. There is no damage to the glaze, which shows the clear coat with minor bubbles or dimples over a deep red base with crazing. The crazing is part of the firing is in the undercoat as is normal/ideal for sang de boeuf or oxblood glazing style (look it up). It is not apparent unless in the sun or under bright light. There is minor age related surface corrosion and patina on the metal parts. It works properly and has a period cone glass shade. 4” heavy metal base, 14.5” to top of socket, 8” wide milkglass shade, approx 24” to top of shade. This will ship via UPS unless USPS is cheaper, I’ll refund or invoice for difference. This is spectacular. Inspect pictures and ask questions. Several other high quality and unusual lamps going up with this one, check them out.
