Description: This is a fine 1981 Michael Boyett western theme pewter sculpture titled "Plains talk- PAWNEE". It was a family owned piece purchased in the 1980's and has been kept in a curio cabinet ever since. It is a simple yet extremely detailed figurine showing a Pawnee brave, or chief, greeting an unknown entity. Look closely and you will see he is making the peace sign with his right hand and his left hand is extended in the usual greeting position. Looking closer notice the tomahawk at his right waist, the bear claw necklace, although only 3 claws, and the intricate hairpiece, plain yet ornate blanket, carved design on the moccasins, sheathed knife in his mid waist and the plain stare on his face. The wood platform is in excellent condition and the pewter figure shows no discoloration. This item stands out from many other figurines by Mr. Boyett in that it has minute details rather than just normal characteristics. It stands 5 3/4 " tall, 4 1/2 " wide at the base and just under 3 3/4 " on the base short side. It weighs 1 lb 3 ounces. It would make a fine addition for any collector or just someone that appreciates fine work. It IS safely PACKED and ready to ship.
