Description: Here's a beautifully crafted, vintage 1.8 root-end 7-node madake bamboo shakuhachi by the Japanese maker Chikuryu. This shakuhachi is perhaps 50-75 years old and in exceptional condition with beautiful striking coloration at the root end. The utaguchi has a very nice playing edge, the bamboo is free from cracks, and the middle joint is free of play. It feels great in the hands and plays lovely, with excellent tuning. Finger holes measure 10.3mm, bamboo tube diameter is approx. 37mm, top opening diameter is 21.2mm, bell end opening diameter is 17.6mm and weight is 421g. The shakuhachi will be well packed and sent via USPS Priority Mail.
