Description: In very good condition. This is a Top-Quality CD of 254 train order images from the Chicago & North Western Railway, covering the entire "Cowboy Line" from Fremont, Nebraska to Lander, Wyoming. In addition, all stations in Nebraska, Wyoming, North Dakota and South Dakota that are not on the Cowboy Line are also included. Most of the trackage in this entire area has been abandoned or sold off to short-line railroads. Included is one station list showing each location and the number of orders copied at that location. Also included is a small timetable compendium of 5 C&NW employee timetables that cover all of this territory, and then some. Copies of the entire timetable are included in each instance. Some of the station pages overlap, but cover this territory in great detail. These timetables are: C&NW Black Hills Division #1 6-1-1967 10 pages; C&NW Dakota Div. #1 6-1-1967 16 pages; C&NW Nebraska Div. #6 12-9-1962 13 pages; C&NW Western Div. #1 12-9-1962 12 pages; and C&NW Western Div. #1 2-1-1970 12 pages. Total 63 images of employee timetable pages included. There is also a map included, that I pieced together just to show the territory involved. The C&NW was a big road back in the day, and they put out an excellent system map. Also included are two orders from the Chicago, St. Paul, Minneapolis & Omaha (CStPM&O) Railway, which was merged into the C&NW on January 1, 1957. This Railroad was also called the "Omaha Route". In addition, the C&NW ran over the CB&Q, later Burlington Northern, from Shobon to Illco. Trains were cleared at Riverton and Casper at the C&NW office at these two locations, with both C&NW and CB&Q/BN orders, to run over the Q in between the actual C&NW locations. There are 71 different locations represented here, with at least one train order image from each one. Ages of the orders range from 1909 to 1986. All of the train order images are from the C&NW, except as described above. The C&NW itself was merged out of existence in 1995. The Cowboy LIne and other lines in this area suffered major damage to bridges and other structures by floods and bad weather, hastening the abandonment process. Traffic had steadily declined on these lines for many years. The 12 pictures shown are just a sampling of the quantity and variety of locations, operators' names, engine numbers (mostly Diesels) and other operations unique to this very historic piece of Railroad. The orders in this CD shows many track conditions, operating procedures, and all kinds of examples consistent with train-order operation. This is some of the best Railroad reading anywhere. Very nice items that are obsolete and no longer used by any Railroad. S&H $4.50. Please see paragraph below regarding combined shipping on multiple items.
