Description: Welcome to River City's 30+ year Knife Collection Sale! We have collected hundreds of these since 1983 and haven't sold any until now! There is a little bit of everything from the modern era in this collection, predominantly USA pocket knives in every condition. Follow us as we'll be listing new items each and every week! (WXXX) This listing is for: Chicago Cutlery P10 Prototype Slim Serpentine Pen Pocket Knife - Only One Ever on eBay! This knife was acquired from a doctor who was an avid pocket knife collector. He reduced his collection, and we were able to purchase several other high end rare knives from him also. This one was hard for him to part with, yet he wanted to see it in the hands of someone who might appreciate it as much as he did. It was originally purchased from another collector via ebay in February 2007. I have shown a copy of the original ebay listing description in the last picture to verify its rarity. Tang Marked: CHICAGOCUTLERY P10 USA Medallion: CHICAGOSERPENTINE The P10 is a unique folding pen knife on its own, with this one being ultra-rare with its teal blue plastic scales! Possibly a one of one and the only one known to exist. You will not find another one!!! Every other P10 known was made with walnut scales/handle. To help date this prototype we discovered folding knives started for Chicago Cutlery in 1979, and more than likely were made for them by another manufacturer (Camillus?? Schrade???). This knife is approximately 2 7/8" overall (closed) with 2 1/8", 1 1/2" and 1 3/8" blades (clip, spey, sheepfoot). This 3 blade knife was never used or carried. No box available, knife in mint condition. It has no chips or cracks in the handles, with brass liners. Blades have not been factory honed or sharpened, they have no edge. Therefore confirming this was a factory prototype/show sample used to test or promote a plastic handle for Chicago Cutlery, which never happened for folders! Opening and closing action is tight and operates smoothly, like new, without wobble. Here is the actual description from the original ebay auction from 2007, now shown online at WorthPoint: Chicago Cutlery P10 RARE. First, I have only seen two P10 CC knives in 25 years, and second, I have NEVER seen one with scales that were not walnut, but it is! I HAVE TO ASSUME THAT THIS WAS MADE AS A PROTOTYPE THAT NEVER HIT THE MARKET. The scales are some sort of plastic with a diamond design. This knife is in MINT condition, never sharpened, never carried. 2 7/8" closed with three blades. Here's your chance to own the most unique Chicago cutlery knife on ebay, or maybe anywhere else.
