The Ships strike clock and barometer work perfect. You would need to adjust the Barometer to your area to get the proper reading. I have printed out a instructions off Chelsea site to explain how to adjust. The brass on the bezel glass face and spinning wheel handles has been polish to give it a two tone effect. If you like totally polish I leave that up to you. When I first got the clock I told my son that it not striking right until learned that ship clocks are set for their 4 hr shifts. That is cool and did not know until I read up on it. The last picture shows a engraved plate of the gentleman that received this awesome gift as a retirement gift. These clocks are so cool. Selling because I can't kept everything so I am down sizing my vintage and antique collection that I have collected over the years. A new one that battery operated cost 4,125.00 and they no longer make the Ship Bell strike series clock.
