Details: This is a suite of 16 single sheet facsimile engravings by Amsterdam-based French engraver and book illustrator Bernard Picart (1673-1733). These are engravings of Jewish life in the Hollands in the seventeenth century. The first in an eleven-volume series on the ceremonies of various religious sects which were depicted by the artist. This group was completed in 1727. Prints measure 10 by 8.75 inches (approx 25.4x 21.52 cm.) and are housed in a paper sleeve with gold titles. Including a two-page preface by Abram Kanof.A fine addition for your art collection! Condition: The prints are pristine. The end result is a box which provides a double thickness of cardboard covering the front and back of the book; actually almost like a box within a box. The outer layer of cardboard extends beyond the ends of the inner "box" which very efficiently protects the corners of the book from being bumped and damaged by the sometimes rough handling packages receive in transit. In addition we place the book in a plastic bag to help guard against moisture if a package is left out in the elements.Delivery:We aim to get all books shipped within 24 hours of order except on weekends. We can't control the delivery time once a book leaves our hands, but most of the time USPS is prompt in delivery, and the expected delivery time given by eBay is usually fairly accurate.
