Description: Dating back to 1973 when it was imagined by Céline Vipiana, Celine's Triomphe logo consists of a double 'C' motif with an oval centre that depicts the architecture of the Arc de Triomphe. The hallmark appears embossed at the centre of these cufflinks made in collaboration with the Japanese Komai Co in the 1980s (see translation of text on label in photos). Celine is a French luxury fashion house founded in 1945 by designer Céline Vipiana. In 1960, the brand decided to change its positioning by focusing its business on a ready-to-wear fashion brand for women with a sportswear approach. They offered a range of leather goods such as bags, loafers, gloves and clothes. In 1964, the launch of the new fragrance "Vent fou" and the new "American Sulky" collection of accessories gained success. In 1973, Celine redesigned its logo with the intertwined "C" linked to the Arc-de-Triomphe, Paris. At that time, Celine began its expansion in the world with the opening of various boutiques in Monte Carlo, Geneva, Hong Kong, Lausanne, Toronto and Beverly Hills. The company was acquired by the brand Louis Vuitton in 1987.
