Description: Cedronella canariensis Seeds (Cedronella triphylla) This wonderful member of the Mint Family (Lamiaceae) is native to the Canary Islands, and is among my favorite aromatic plants. Cedronella is a monotypic genus, with only this one species, and it is also unique among the other mints, as this one has compound leaves consisting of three leaflets, while most have simple leaves. The square stems grow to 3-3 1/2' tall and wide. The tall, leafy stems are topped with dense, short spikes of tubular two-lipped, white to pink flowers. (Not the "Balm of Gilead" of the Bible.) The most amazing part of this attractive herb is that the stems, leaves, flowers and seeds all have the same amazing fragrance, which is vaguely similar to the resinous scent of Cedar. I find that the fragrance is like a combination of Citrus, Camphor, Eucalyptus and Rosemary. It is one of those fragrances that you will either love or hate, and is great in sachets and tossed in the bath. It is known in its native Canary Islands for treating coughs and colds, and as a relaxant, and is also used for teas. Hardy in mild climates, this requires moist, well-drained soil, in full to half sun, with morning sun and afternoon shade in hot climates. Will grow well in large pots, and is suitable for growing in a sunroom or greenhouse. Hardy in mild climates, Cedronella requires moist, well-drained soil, in full to half sun, with morning sun and afternoon shade in hot climates. In cold climates, it will grow well in large pots, and is suitable for growing in a sunroom or greenhouse. If happy, it may reseed. One packet contains 15 freshly harvested seeds and detailed sowing instructions. Please note: The seeds are fresh and viable - success in their germination is up to you - and will be achieved by carefully following the instructions included with your seeds. Sowing seeds requires cleanliness, practice and patience, and frequently have specific requirements and pretreatments. There is a learning curve. I say this because people generally blame the seeds or the seller for a failure in germination, when, in actuality, it is generally because of the one doing the sowing... With that said, I wish you the best of luck with the seeds, and if you have any questions with getting them started, please feel free to contact me. I've been growing and collecting rare and exotic plants for over 45 years and sowing seeds has been a specialty. Most of the trees and shrubs that are growing in my garden have been started from seeds; there is something very satisfying about that. All photos are of plants in my own collection - unless stated otherwise. NO INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING - SORRY - I ONLY SHIP TO THE US. I do combine shipping for multiple items - please request a new shipping total before checking out. Thank you! Upon arrival of the seeds/cutting/plant, if you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me. I want you to be happy with your purchase and to have the greatest success in its cultivation! Thank you for checking out my ebay offerings. Robert
